URBAN DESIGN & URBAN DEVELOPMENT CHAIR
- © Fachgebiet Städtebau und Siedlungswesen
The Urban Design and Urban Development Chair works at the interface between architecture and urban planning with a clear focus on the physical shape of cities.
In light of major changes in the cities and regions due to climate, socio-cultural and demographic changes and new technical developments spatial and procedural knowledge shall merge in sustainable and liveable urban design. Urban design is taught as an "act of creating" and as a process of negotiating the diverse needs and expectations of various stakeholders. In addition to conceptual designing and communicative skills, it is analytical expertise and the craft of illustration that is taught.
